06/24/15 Pt. Defiance Report

The salmon fishing was a little better yesterday with chinook ranging from 6lbs. to 18lbs. mostly jigging with salmon jigs at the Clay Banks, Shelf and Pt. Evens areas and for the moochers the Clay Banks if you can get through the Dogfish and Pt. Dalco has been giving up a few nice chinook. For the trollers try the Girl Scout camp area and troll the Clay Banks out onto shelf.

Dungeness crabbing opens 7/2/15 and should be productive.

Just a heads up if the State does not come up with a budget by 7/01/15 there will be no fishing in most of the state because WDFW personnel are considered nonessential employees and if they do not work we do not fish. Call you representatives get the budget done.

The annual Taste of Tacoma is this weekend the 6/26 through 6/28 so traffic and parking will be a challenge for boaters at Pt. Defiance Park come early and leave early if you can and be patient.
