Salmon fishing remains slow out of the Port of Brookings on the southern Oregon coast. A few are being caught each day, but the peak season style fishing still hasn’t happened. There’s no shortage of action, however. We are getting limits of quality rockfish (catching them three at a time), and finding a really nice grade of lingcod. The weather has been perfect. Mild, foggy mornings, warm afternoons, light wind, small swell.
We use light tackle on our rockfish and lingcod trips, and fish shallow water.
