Fished Westport the past 4 days. Thursday-Saturday it was on fire Chinook fishing. Saturday alone we caught and released 35 kings, most were in the 12-15lb range. Coho fishing was good and there are now a lot of pink salmon in the area. King fishing slowed a little Sunday but if you stayed at it you still got them. Keeping an eye glued to the Lowrance sonar adjusting your downrigger depth to where you marked schools of fish was key to producing fish.
We had our top fishing …about 6 miles west of the GH buoy or 8 miles SW from the harbor mouth.
Trolling Scotty Downriggers at 120-140ft was the top king depth.
The top setup was a 11 inch Pro-Troll Flasher with 35 inches of 30lb Seaguar fluorocarbon leader to a Silver Horde 664 Kingfisher Lite spoon. We used Pro Cure Bloody Tuna Gel Scent as an attractor and it work great. Best bite was early AM and just after the tide change.
