The salmon fishing for mature Chinook has dropped way off locally but I have had reports of good fishing near the Nisqually River.
Immature Chinook or Blackmouth are showing up at the Claybank area on the outgoing tide and at Pt. Dalco on the incoming tide fish for these fish in 120’ to 160’ of water and near bottom.
The Coho fishing has picked up but we are only seeing fish from 3lbs. to 5lbs. right now the best areas lately have been the outgoing tidal rips in the Colvos passage area in about surface to 60’ depth.
Pinks are still being caught with concentrations around the Commencement Bay area and in the Colvos passage area mixed in with Coho.
Watch out for the Hump Back whale in the area it has been ply the local waters for a few days now.
