09/22/15 Puget Sound Wolf Eel!

I went on a NOAA rock fish study fishing trip last Thursday. Fished south of Whidbey Island with Steve Kesling. 2 fisherman, the biologist and the captain. We got 41 fish including 17 Lings from undersize through oversize. Why this Wolf Eel bit on a shrimp fly rig is unknown but pretty cool. 5 feet 3 inches long. We caught one juvenile red stripe rockfish and all the others were Copper or Quillback rockfish, up to 5 lbs.
