MA 11 Salmon Report

The chinook fishing has been fair to good recently with most of the salmon coming from the Gig Harbor shoreline and trolling has been the most popular method. Daylight to 8 Am troll in 40’ to 80’ of water and 35’ to 60’ down. There is Chinook coming from the other usual spots like the Clay Banks, Slag, Pt. Dalco and the Girl Scout camp area most of the salmon have been 8 to 12lbs with some reaching the low twenty’s.
Coho fishing has been decent also when targeted, most of these salmon have been caught in and around the shoreline near Kelp Beds but are starting to transition to deeper waters 30’ to 60’ down trolling a little faster.
There is also pinks in the area near Quartermaster Harbor mouth along the shoreline and near Dash Pt. / Browns Pt. as well.
Good opportunity to put a salmon in the cooler right now.
Crabbing remains slow but some Dungeness can be caught in 150’ of water or more and Red Rock crab are almost everywhere.
